The Background Story on our archive collection:

Now in our 10th year, we're very proud to present another exclusive design, as part of a collaboration between Gabicci Vintage and Modfather Clothing. However, this design is a little different, the Port Limited Edition Short Sleeve Knit is inspired by an early 80's original (purchased many years ago in a vintage shop in Camden Town). 

We've always pushed for bigger collars and for the brand to revisit some the classic design details that form so many of our customers early memories  of Gabicci.

Now on our 5th collaboration, we've worked closely with the design team, presenting Gabicci with one of our favourite ever archive pieces. Over the years, the original garment has been worn by a member of our team at both Modfather shops & every time it gets an outing a customer will ask if we sell the design... (it's become a bit of a running joke).

We asked the brand to date the garment and their archives suggest it was originally produced between 1979 - 81. The original (pictured) is dark maroon, which we've revisited, but we've also added a couple of striking new colour options for spring/summer 2022, Black & Ginger.

A simple, elegant button through polo knit, which looks just as good unfastened over a crisp white t-shirt. The collar isn't huge, but has a beautiful curved shape to it, giving the garment a real statement look. Our knit is a fraction shorter in the body than a modern Gabicci, in keeping with the original design.
