The World Exclusive Limited Edition Natural Mystic Exodus Bob Marley Gold Football Shirt
We’re very fortunate at Modfather Clothing to have worked with some of our musical heroes, but we have to say this is our biggest & most exciting collaboration to date.
In an era where music and sports increasingly intersect, the latest collaboration between Admiral Sports, Modfather Clothing and the Bob Marley Foundation is not just a nod to a seminal reggae album but a vibrant celebration of football’s cultural heritage.
There's a natural mystic blowin' through the air, if you listen carefully now you will hear…
The opening line from arguably the greatest Reggae album of all time.
"Exodus, movement of Jah people."
Bob Marley’s connection to football is very well-documented, but it was during his time in London, while recording the Exodus album, that this passion visibly intersected with his musical journey.
Marley’s frequent visits to Battersea Park, accompanied by members of The Wailers, became a local spectacle. They weren’t just kicking a ball around; they were weaving football into the very fabric of London’s cultural tapestry.
Having visited the village of Nine Miles to pay our respects at Bob’s childhood home, working on this project has been a massive honour for our family business.
We hope we’ve done the great man proud.
‘’Football is a whole skill to itself. A whole world. A whole universe to itself. Me love it because you have to be skilful to play it! Freedom! Football is freedom.” Bob Marley.
Bob was laid to rest at Nine Mile on the 21st of May 1981, the village where, 36 years earlier, he had been born.
His casket contained his red Gibson Les Paul guitar, a Bible, a stalk of ganja and a football.
To honour the great man’s legacy, a lot of research, love and respect has gone into each individual design element.
This Worldwide Exclusive Limited Edition Modfather long sleeve football shirt is a homage to the original iconic gold cover art.
The word ’Exodus’ in that striking red and black bold typeface which adorns the album cover, the conquering Lion of Judah from the reverse of the sleeve worked into the shirt crest, along with the text ‘BOB MARLEY F.C. EXODUS 1977’.
The red, gold & green from the Rastafarian flag, which was derived from the first official flag of Ethiopia, has been embroidered on the inner placket.
This can be revealed or concealed by the wearer as it sits under a gold top button fastening.
We’ve also printed the famous opening track title ‘Natural Mystic’ into the neck tape.
The reverse of the shirt sports a number 12, which Marley famously wore in 1980 while playing for the Am/Jam Team against Haiti in Miami, marking his final football appearance.
We’ve subtly worked the Rastafarian flag into the Admiral logo within that historic number-set.
Contrast black collar and cuffs make the design pop and there’s a ‘Bob Marley Admiral Officially Licensed Limited Edition’ embroidered patch to the hemline of our shirt.
The sizing of this shirt is different from that of Admiral’s existing Bob Marley collection. We’ve gone for a slightly slimmer fit, so please check out our size guide.
